Do You Have Questions About Taking Proper Care Of Your Dentures? We Are Here To Make Your Denture Experience An Easy One

The Importance of Dentures

One of the things we all have to do in life is take care of our health, which includes our oral health. As time goes on, there are circumstances that may cause our oral health to become impacted. This could happen due to age, lifestyle habits, or illness. Due to these circumstances, our oral health may have complications which result in the need for dentures. However, if you already have dentures, you understand how important it is to stay on top of them and keep them in great condition.

Clean Your Dentures Daily - It is important that when you get your dentures, you begin the habit of cleaning them every day and rinsing them off after every meal. This means using a soft bristle toothbrush which is designed for dentures. We do recommend speaking with us about recommendations for specific denture tools and toothpaste.

Treat Your Dentures With Care - Accidents may happen when caring for your dentures, which is why it is important to handle them with care anytime you remove them. The most common way that dentures break is when they are dropped. At our clinic, we can repair them. Please keep in mind though, not all dentures are repairable. If your dentures break, please call us for an assessment before deciding to purchase a new set.

Remove Your Dentures Before Going to Sleep - Whether you wear partial or complete dentures, it is important that you remove them before going to bed. By removing your dentures before bed, it gives your gums and tissue a chance to relax. Although, this is not recommended for all patients as leaving your dentures in could help prevent joint pain. If you do remove your dentures at night, you should place them in water or a denture solution. If placing your dentures in water, please ensure the water is room temperature as hot water can cause your dentures to warp.
